Gabriella Leon - Thinking Aloud

Gabriella is a gregarious, northern, deaf Actor/Writer and Deviser. She graduated from East 15's Contemporary Theatre course in 2017 and is currently a series regular in BBC's Casualty, playing Nurse ‘Jade Lovall’. A pioneering Casualty episode showing the experience of Jade’s deafness, on the day she meets her birth mother- won a Royal Television Society Award for innovation, 2021. Gabriella is extremely passionate about the representation of disabilities in the creative industry. She drives to challenge and change attitudes and misconceptions in the arts around disabilities, invisible and visible. She’s a regular attendee at 'Danc' (Disabled Artist's Networking Community) events; and was a panellist at the Roundhouse's "Driving Change 2020" event, speaking about how to normalise and encourage invisible disability in our workplaces, theatres and on our screens. With a love for comedy and new writing Gabriella loves celebrating the weird and wonderful in all realms of theatre and screen.
