Iain moved to Manchester from his hometown in Warwickshire to study for a psychology degree. 28 years later he is still here and now considers himself an honorary Mancunian.

Iain started work for ITV in 2006, where he got his first foot on the continuing drama ladder as an assistant researcher at Coronation Street. Since then he has worked in various roles including story editor at Coronation Street (highlights included overseeing the storylines for the 50th anniversary tram crash), Series Producer at Emmerdale (during which time the show won two NTAs for best soap and a BAFTA) and Series Producer at Coronation Street.

Iain is now the Executive Producer for Continuing Drama, working across both Emmerdale and Coronation Street, and considers himself to have the best job in the world. Iain describes his job as making up stories for a living and seeing them brought to life by a team of immensely talented colleagues.
