Born and raised in Oldham, left school at 16 and worked as a joiner on building sites before training as an actor and finding his way into writing.

Coronation Street team member since 2018, episodes include the Continuing Drama Series BAFTA winners 2022. He has also written on Cold Feet (ITV), Medici (Netflix), Beyond Paradise, Castles in the Sky, EastEnders, Death in Paradise, The Dumping Ground (RTS NE Best Drama), Holby City, Doctors, and Casualty (BBC) The Mill and Shameless (C4).

Stage includes The Greatest Play in the History of the World… (Royal Exchange Manchester, Traverse Theatre Edinburgh, Trafalgar Studios), Candyland (Bruntwood / Royal Exchange regional winner) and Starcross’d (Manchester Theatre Award winner). He also has many plays, original series and book adaptations on BBC R4.
