Kate Thomas is a Commissioning Editor in the Daytime & Features team at Channel 4, and is based in the Bristol Hub.

Since joining Channel 4 two years ago, Kate has commissioned a range of new series into daytime and peak, including the new launch from Welsh indie Chwarel, The Great House Giveaway and series one of Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country, which was Channel 4’s most successful brand new 8pm launch of 2020.

Prior to joining Channel 4, Kate Thomas was Creative Director at ITV owned Boom in Wales, where she looked after winning new network commissions across multiple genres, including factual for ITV and the BBC, kids for CITV and scripted for Channel 5. Prior to joining Boom, Kate was a Head of Development at BBC Studios.

Kate is a passionate advocate for commissioning in the Nations and Regions, and this is borne out in the content she has commissioned thus far in her role.
