Peter Salmon was appointed Executive Chairman of Banijay UK in September 2020 overseeing a portfolio of 23 unscripted and scripted production labels, with a focus on content and creativity.

Prior to this, Peter was Chief Creative Officer of the Endemol Shine Group, which was acquired by Banijay in July 2020. Leading the group’s producers, championing ideas and supporting the international rollout of content across linear and digital platforms, Peter was also the creative lead for the companies in the UK group.

A highly experienced programme maker and commissioner, Peter has held numerous leadership positions in broadcasting and production at Channel 4, Granada TV, The Television Corporation and the BBC, including Controller of BBC One, Director of BBC Studios and Director of BBC England and in a career spanning over 30 years.
