Six-time Royal Television Society Award winner and two-time BAFTA nominee, Solon Papadopoulos is an acclaimed executive producer, producer and director whose work spans documentary and drama. As founder of Liverpool’s boutique production company Hurricane Films, he has produced eight independent feature films including Terence Davies’ Of Time and the City, Sunset Song, and A Quiet Passion, alongside other films such as A Prayer Before Dawn and The Last Bus. All have premiered at ‘A’ list film festivals internationally.

A former marine engineer turned filmmaker, Sol’s career has taken him from the decks of an aircraft carrier in Pearl Harbor to the West Bank.

He is a BAFTA and Directors UK member, Co-Chair of The Open Eye Photography Gallery, and a visiting lecturer at Salford University, Sheffield Hallam, and Liverpool John Moores.
