Accessibility Policy
Our Commitment
Creative Cities Convention is committed to making our events as accessible, inclusive and welcoming as possible.
We recognise that people have different access requirements, and we are committed to removing barriers wherever reasonably practicable so that everyone can participate fully in our events.
We aim to create an environment where delegates, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, staff and volunteers feel valued, respected and able to take part.
Accessibility Planning
Accessibility is considered throughout the planning of Creative Cities Convention, including:
- Selecting venues that offer step-free access wherever possible.
- Providing accessible toilet facilities.
- Ensuring lifts are available where event spaces are on different floors.
- Considering lighting, sound and room layouts to improve accessibility.
- Providing seating throughout the venue where possible.
- Working with venue teams to support accessible routes and facilities.
- Providing BSLI’s for the main conference sessions.
- Captioning video content.
- Providing a quiet space where needed throughout the event.
Communication
We aim to make information clear and easy to access by:
- Providing event information in advance where possible.
- Using clear signage throughout the venue.
- Making delegates aware of accessibility arrangements before the event.
- Ensuring staff know how to assist attendees with access requirements.
Accessibility Requests
We encourage delegates, speakers and exhibitors to let us know about any accessibility requirements when booking, or as early as possible before the event.
Examples may include:
- Wheelchair access.
- Reserved seating.
- Step-free routes.
- Hearing or visual support requirements.
- Dietary requirements relating to disability or medical conditions.
- Assistance for neurodivergent attendees.
- Space for assistance dogs or personal assistants.
- Other reasonable adjustments that will help you participate.
We will always do our best to accommodate requests, although some adjustments may depend on venue facilities or the amount of notice provided.
Hidden Disabilities
We recognise that not all disabilities are visible.
Our team will always seek to treat requests for assistance with understanding, respect and discretion.
Personal Assistants
Where possible, we welcome personal assistants, or support workers, or support animals accompanying delegates who require assistance. Please contact us before the event so that we can make appropriate arrangements.
Speakers
We ask speakers to support accessibility by:
- Using microphones where provided.
- Describing important visual content where practical.
- Making presentations clear and easy to follow.
- Using readable fonts and avoiding unnecessarily complex slides.
- Bringing water bottles with them (if required.)
Our Team
Members of the Creative Cities Convention team are available throughout the event to assist with accessibility queries or to help resolve any issues that arise.

We are committed to continually improving the accessibility of our events.
